| Hi I am the granddaughter of then Lt (JG) Henry Angelsen. I remember his stories of the torpedoing of the Electra off North Africa from when I was a little girl. Unfortunately, he passed away in 1974. I enjoyed viewing your site. | ||

| Hi, I am the daugther of Junius Howard. He served as the cook on the Electra from '43 to '46. He's gone to glory now, leaving 6 children and a host of grands. If you remember anything about him I would love to know. Any little tidbit would be good. I didn't know him well enough, and he refused to talk about war to me. Thank you | ||

| I believe I stood Watches in port with Jack Nevins in the engine room. Jack was on the evaps above the throttle stand and ran me ragged with his alarm bell. He`d ring and I`d answer my phone. Had a lot of no one on the other end till I dummied up, would like to hear from him if he`s so inclined. It`s been along time. | ||

| Came back the far East and had a 60 day leave, Reported in in seattle then asigned to Phib pac got orders to the electra; Lt. Law was divsion officer. Lt Tarbel I believe checked me into the engine room crew and as boat engineer on amphib ops. Left the ship before the Pt Barrow trip as I was due for discharge. Used to hang out at The Spot Bar in San Diego. Had some good time and a bunch of good guys. Remember a guy Named Pappy Hudson, On restriction when I got there and when I left, Seem he kept finding a nice senorita and forgot to come home for a few days. All in all it was a good way to grow up | ||

| My father Bill Schneider from Rochester NY was on the Electra. Dates unsure. I have many pics of many islands. Including Siapan and the island survivor was filmed on. Don\'t see him in the pics on the web site. Would like to know if any one remembers him. Like many others he never talked about the war. After his death we found a barrel in the attack with all his stuf. Thanks, Patrick Schneider, 3rd US Infantry, Arlington National Cemetary. | ||

| I was in the E&R Div. as an engine repairman on landing craft: stood watches in the engine room while underway. Made the Point Barrow trip that is mentioned by others. Also made the trip to the Prebiloff Islands. We layed over a few days in Seward, Alaska, the Captain granted libery. Will never forget the ice floes and the Coast Guard ice breakers. I saw, on the site, several names that I remembered. Would really enjoy hearing from some of my shipmates. In March of 1956 I was transfered to Coronado Amphib Base for the ballance of my time.rn | ||
