Carl Fenn served aboard USS Electra as a radioman from March 1954 to May 1955. When he completed his two years USNR service, he returned to academia, earning a Doctor of Education and serving on the faculty of Western Illinois University for 30 years, specializing in Special Education. Then he served as a volunteer Exective Director of the local Habitat for Humanity affiliate for 5 years. In February 2008 he and Linda moved to Independence, Missouri where they are now taking it a bit easier.
