HISTORY History of USS Electra

This web site is intended to be the home for memories of those who served in the U.S. Navy in USS Electra (AKA 4). All former shipmates are invited to contribute content, narrative or images.

It was started by two former Electra shipmates, Donald Ravey and Floyd Cramer, who got in touch with each other after nearly a half century!

Our Electra crew database now contains 2,100 names, ranks and dates of service, to the extent available, representing everyone who served aboard USS Electra in WWII or the Korean conflict, as far as we have been able to obtain that information from the National Archives. By clicking on the "Database" brass plate, you can add your personal information or search for old shipmates, by name or year of service.

And take a look at our map of former crew members ("Map", at left) and you can add yourself to our map!

New Gallery page for unidentified photos! Can you help identify some of these crew members?
